People of St. Louis, the time to act is now! The election for Mayor of St. Louis is this Tuesday, April 7th and it's too late to get TJ Oshie on the ballot, but it's never too late for write-in votes.
For the writers of this blog, only one of us is eligible to actually vote in the city election, but that doesn't mean that we can't try. Even if we do get caught trying to scam our way in, we may just vote in our own municipalities anyway. He could probably win a race in Olivette without getting too many votes.
Here's some info on the City of St. Louis race:
- There are 4 candidates on the ballot.
- Some dude named 'Elston' is running as the Green Party candidate, and his campaign vehicle was recently firebombed. So, you might not want to be caught standing too close to dude.
- Robb Cunningham is running as a Libertarian, so clearly all of his supporters will be far too high to vote on Tuesday.
- Maida Coleman is running as an Independant, which means she should not quit her day job quite yet.
- Francis Slay is running as a Democrat. He lists his current occupation as "Mayor of St. Louis" so he might have a leg up on this thing.
TJ Oshie's qualifications:
- Recently was named NHL Rookie of the Month (don't you want your mayor to exhibit youthful enthusiasm?)
- His jersey is outselling all others by a 3-to-1 margin (TJ Oshie is already helping to pump money into the local economy)
- As the sign above says, he is the future (anyone who tries to resist the future is guaranteed to be part of the past)
- TJ Oshie is pro-job creation (his dad runs a TJ-related company called "Oshie Sports & Entertainment")
- TJ Oshie understands the issues of Seniors (didn't want to step on any toes when it came to selecting a jersey number)
- TJ Oshie will stand up for St. Louis
- TJ Oshie is familiar with law enforcement and can work well with STLPD
- TJ Oshie can raise funds for the city
- TJ Oshie is pro-education (three years at University of North Dakota)
- TJ Oshie can bust out a mean version of 'Wonderwall' on the game Rock Band
The time to act is NOW, people! Tell your friends and neighbors and be sure to write in TJ Oshie for mayor of St. Louis on Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteGO FLYERS!
ReplyDeleteBut I do wish Oshie won the election. Good stuff...
This is why other countries laugh at us. While I'm all for freedom of choice this person is glory hound just wanting his five minutes!!!
ReplyDeleteTry not to take yourself so seriously Justin. Its people like you that other countries laugh at.
ReplyDeleteIs Rich Chrismer f---ing insane?! If the purpose of the law is to prevent people from buying and selling votes then how could you possibly apply the letter of the law to prosecute someone who clearly hasn't violated the spirit of the law. If he moves forward with prosecution then his hillbilly ass should be thrown out of office. Yosemitesav
ReplyDeleteThis was the best idea a American could do. We are sick and tired of the crap our government drags us into. If I lived there I would have voted for a change and if this guy gets jail time. See what our nation is coming to. Support this kid because Vancouver going to take out the Blues anyways so they need all the support they can.
ReplyDeleteJason, did you finish middle school?
ReplyDeleteBlues stink! Luongo is KING!
ReplyDeleteSharks are taking the cup this year boys! No more playoff choking....I hope:) Got a little love for the blues though. I used to live in Moberly, MO years ago.

ReplyDeleteRANGERSSSSSSSS
ReplyDeletebut you see if the person wouldnt have taken a photo of the ballot oshie could have won. so in real aspect the person who took the photo of the ballot is the dumbass he/she is the one that kept him out of office. there are some good point to how he would help the city. 1: the is a stand up guy. 2: he already has his publicity. 3: he is young, athletic, he is for education, he is pro job creation, and he is familiar with law inforcement. he would have been a good mayor.
ReplyDeleteWhere's the pic of the ballot...too funny! LMAO
ReplyDeletei dont even know who this guy is i just came here cause i wanted to see the picture but its not here so my time has been wasted...
ReplyDeletemilan lucic for president
ReplyDeleteAmen to the Lucic vote!
ReplyDeleteThe law states "(14) On the part of any voter, except as otherwise provided by law, allowing his ballot to be seen by any person with the intent of letting it be known how he is about to vote or has voted, or knowingly making a false statement as to his inability to mark his ballot;"
ReplyDeleteIf you were actually not a voter you are legally allowed to do what you did!
Go Milan!
ReplyDeleteYou can find a picture of the offending ballot on the blog's google cache.
ReplyDeleteGo Bruins! God Bless and long live Milan Lucic!
ReplyDeleteLUCIC IS GOD
ReplyDeleteYeah! Write in Lucic lol
ReplyDeleteI think that it is really stupid that they are planning on prosecuting the person that took the picture of the ballet, and if they give this person a big fine I am going to send money to help pay it. I mean really dosen't the prosecuters office have more important things to do with their time and tax payers money.
ReplyDeleteMilan Lucic for Mayor of Beantown
ReplyDeletewhat a stupid story. and a stupid website. yahoo wasted my time yet again. wow some idiot didnt run, didnt win, and someone wants to throw someone in jail for taking a picture of his own ballot? what do we live in nazi germany?!?!?!?! idiots.

you should ammend the name of blog and add /and chrismer is a douch...anytime someone brings his name up or he is seen in public, proper response would be to cough "douch" at him,if he heard that everyday for the rest of his life or at least political career...it would drive him nuts, and sometimes embarass him when hes with his family/friends...btw not much of a blues fan...but i feel for you all
ReplyDeleteI SAW THIS ON YAHOO...THAT WHY I AM HERE.......TO SAY THAT CHRISMER NEEDS TO STOP BEING SO ANAL ABOUT THIS......I BET THIS CHRISMER GUY GOT PICKED ON ALOT AS A KID .....CHRISMER CAN GO SUCKA DEEEYYYYYAAAAHHH
ReplyDeleteWho watches hockey anyway?
ReplyDeleteKOBE FOR PRESIDENT!!!
Canucks are the best and they are beating the blues so who cares about oshie.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I am not a Hockey fan per say, I believe that writing a celebrities name on a ballot is possibly a good thing because it sheds light on the short comings of the person(s) who are actually running for the office in question. To the person who wrote in the name and then had the picture taken of the ballot, I say kudos, I always thought that casting a ballot in a "public" election was a personal thing that could be kept private or shared with others. Whether this person showed his/her ballot to the camera or went up and down the street shouting their choice is the same. I believe that if this person is prosecuted for their choice, it shows just how trivial government has become, they ( our elected officials) would rather waste valuable time, and resources pursuing a criminal case, than re-direct their energies to matters at hand, like the issues of joblessness, and bolstering the economy. This I will direct to the government, get off your duffs and lead your people as you were dually elected to do and forgive and forget juvenile things as, punishing someone for what is possibly a misguided choice yet really did not harm, on;y makes you the government look more foolish in the eyes of the people that placed you in the position of respect that you now sit in.
ReplyDeleteLucic is amazing! 1-0 Bruins
ReplyDeleteHabs Suck!
Rich Chrismer is a jackass! If he is an elected official please vote him out of office. If he isn't, then fire him. What a total jerk!!
